About the Centre for Physical Activity Research (CFAS):
The research centre is headed by Professor Bente Klarlund Pedersen and the overall aim is to develop targeted exercise training regimes for specific disease groups by applying a translational and unconventional strategy that we label: “from man to molecule and back”. A key principle of CFAS is that the research carried out in the laboratories can find direct application in the real world. Thus, training regimes that demonstrate promising results in a laboratory setting will be further tested and developed in large patient groups in a model municipality and/or at a model hospital department before the optimal training mode is translated into relevant national health institutions.
